Bamboovement - Bamboo toothbrush (flat)

Millions of plastic toothbrushes are thrown away every year. The toothbrushes that end up in the rubbish can hardly be recycled. And those that end up in nature stay there for at least decades. Doing nothing about this only increases the damage. So be aware and say goodbye to plastic. Switch to bamboo. The bamboo toothbrush is almost completely biodegradable. Only the bristles are not allowed in the organic waste. They are made of nylon 610. Therefore, break off the head with hairs using pliers and throw it away with your rubbish. Nylon 610 requires castor oil from the miracle tree. The process of converting castor oil into nylon 610 is many times more sustainable than that of normal nylon - it uses petroleum - but unfortunately it does not yet result in 100% biodegradable hairs.

Moso bamboo

Like many of our products, these beautiful bamboo toothbrushes are made primarily from bamboo. Bamboo is extremely sustainable for several reasons. It is the fastest growing plant on earth. The type we use is called Moso bamboo and can grow up to one metre per day under optimum conditions.  In addition, several bamboo trees grow from a single root system. By using at least five-year-old bamboo for production, the root system remains healthy and new bamboo trees continue to grow from it.  Most importantly, The Bamboovement does not pose a threat to the pandas. The pandas prefer to eat the leaves close to the ground. The leaves of Moso bamboo grow too high for them.

Plastic-free shipping

The bamboo toothbrushes come in a kraft paper box. They are shipped in a parcel made of recycled cardboard. This way we also guarantee sustainability in terms of packaging and shipping materials.
