This handmade product is made of mango wood in Northern India. The tradition of wood craftsmanship originated in ancient times. Artistic woodwork began as a temple and palace craft. The wood is obtained from trees when they have reached a mature age and are therefore able to grow fruit for longer. The artisans who make this product earn a fair wage. This allows them to provide for their families, send their children to school and improve their living conditions.
