This handmade product is made from mango wood in northern India. The tradition of wood craftsmanship originated in ancient times. Artistic woodwork began as a temple and palace craft. The wood is obtained from trees when they have reached a mature age and are therefore able to grow fruit for longer. The artisans who make this product earn a fair wage. This allows them to provide for their families, send their children to school and improve their living conditions. Besides receiving health care, they work in safe conditions and receive training while working.
